ZERO PLASTIC WASTE AFTER 4 YEARS!
Precision DK Hand Wrap System will reduce your impact on the environment and achieve your sustainability goals.
Total film stretch of 285% with a hand application! (Prestretched 250% and our proprietary dispenser stretches the film an extra 35%)
• the total amount of film used and therefore reduction in annual costs
• hard-to-recycle cores as Precisionrap DK is a CORELESS product
• failed loads due to the consistency in load containment and wrap method
• operator body injury & strain with ergonomic design
• Workers Comp injuries & claims because the operator now walks in a forward motion to wrap the pallet
• DECAYS (bio-assimilates) 100%
• 2 years stable shelf-life
• Bio-assimilation process takes 6 to 24 months
• No harmful environmental impact
• Leaves no toxins or microplastics
• 100% recyclable, no negative impact
• Same price as our Precisionrap product
• Helps achieve company sustainability goals
HOW DOES PRECISIONRAP DK WORK?
Precisionrap DK has a special additive package, Eclipse®, that causes ALL polyolefins to
bio-assimilate (in general terms, 100% biodegradation and returning back to its original element.
After extrusion, Precisionrap DK has a stable shelf life of two years. Then the chemical reaction begins, causing the film to break down and attract micro-organisms that “devour” the carbon.
The colony thrives and grows exponentially until the food source is gone. This incredible transformation will take place anywhere and cannot be stopped.
If there is an abundance of UV rays, micro-organisms and heat, the process could take as little as 6 months. In the ocean or buried in landfill, the process could take approximately 2 years. There is no negative impact if DK is introduced into the recycling stream.
At the end of the process, all that remains is a little bit of CO2, H2O, and biomass (micro-organism fecal matter)
What is Bio-assimilation?
Bio-assimilation means that the plastic has degraded to a molecular weight that can be consumed by living organisms. This represents the final and conclusive stage of plastic biodegradation, leaving behind no microplastics.
Does the ECLIPSE™ additive affect the performance of the stretch film?
The addition of ECLIPSE™ bio-assimilation technology does not alter the benefits of conventional plastic products.
Can you recycle and compost ECLIPSE™ enabled products?
Yes DK is engineered to be part of the recycling stream! The addition of ECLIPSE™ technology does not negatively impact the recyclability of the products or the recycle stream, provided the plastic has been collected and recycled before the bio-assimilation process has begun. If the material still has the mechanical characteristics of its original product, it can be recycled. DK is a safety net in the event that the item evades the recycling system. It is not meant to encourage disposal in landfill.
Is DK compostable? Yes, Precisionrap DK will decompose in an industrial composting environment. However, DK is not ASTM D6400 compliant due to the nature of the bio-assimilation process. With DK, the majority of carbon in bio-assimilated material is sequestered as biomass whereas ASTM D6400 requires the majority of carbon within the material to be turned into CO2.
Does DK contain any toxic ingredients?
ECLIPSE™ is organic and is comprised of non-toxic raw materials which are independently approved for direct contact with food.
How long can I use Precisionrap DK before it starts to bio-assimilate?
DK has a tailor-made functional life span. Precisionrap DK Stretch Film has a guaranteed functional life span of 2-years. It is only once the stabilizers run out at the end of this programmed period that the bio-assimilation process begins.
